Having previously installed a new shower room for Mr Liggat a couple years ago, we were delighted when he asked us to visit his home to discuss installing a new kitchen. The property is a traditional bungalow benefitting from a decent size …long kitchen / dining area which our client was keen to merge into one larger area. The design brief was to provide plenty of storage space by installing a bank of tall cabinets with an integrated Fridge / Freezer and providing plenty work surface in a traditional U shape layout.
We proposed fitting a curved breakfast bar at the opposite end from the sink, effectively creating two zones within the kitchen and we installed downlights above each which could be operated separately to allow the dining end to be more intimate than eating at a traditional raised breakfast bar worktop area.
Kitchen lighting is often overlooked in the planning stages and we advised Mr Liggat on contemporary alternative to the glaring strip light. We installed a series of drawer motion sensor lighting/modern overhead lighting at tall units and low profile tri-lights below wall units which all offer mood alternatives.
We use Sensio lighting in our kitchens and although a more expensive option, we believe the quality of the product makes the investment worthwhile.
The kitchen was from the Ellis Impression range with the door finishes in Natural Oak, A modern door which is classic and the worksurfaces are finished in Silestone Platinum Chrome.

Mr Liggats kitchen required a considerable amount of preliminary work to be carried out prior to the actual kitchen installation itself including alteration to the plumbing / electrical and a lot of plaster work. Whilst this adds to the total cost , it allows for any alterations to electrical socket positions etc and we were keen not to rush our clients into installing the kitchen without careful consideration on how the area should function.
All electrical sockets were renewed with striking chrome faceplates and tiled splashbacks were preferred which add longevity to the kitchen. The remaining walls were decorated to complete the look. .
The flooring was fitted with Krono laminate and appliances were by CDA which comes with an extensive warranty of 5 years on parts.
Mr Liggat was delighted with the end result and indeed recommended us to his friends who subsequently appointed us to carry out their kitchen renewal.
